This position exists to support the Contracts & Procurement (C&P) activities of MEPAU Operations, with primary expertise in operational procurement, contracting and supplier management in support of safe, reliable and efficient production operations.

The role is responsible for ensuring operational materials, equipment and services are sourced and delivered in a timely manner to support production, maintenance, shutdown and integrity activities. Working closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Logistics and Warehousing teams, the position plays a critical role in ensuring supply chain activities enable uninterrupted operations and minimise production risk.

As a senior C&P SME, the role is responsible for leading operational sourcing and contracting activities, developing strong supplier relationships and driving supplier performance to meet business requirements. The position acts as the primary escalation point for Operations-related procurement and contracting matters and is expected to proactively influence suppliers, remove barriers and deliver practical solutions to ensure critical operational requirements are met.

The role requires a strong sense of ownership, urgency and accountability, with a relentless focus on ensuring Operations receives the materials and services required to maintain safe and reliable production while delivering best-for-business commercial outcomes.

• Partner closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Logistics and Warehousing teams to understand business priorities and provide proactive procurement and contracting support.
• Act as the primary C&P focal point and escalation point for Operations-related procurement and contracting activities.
• Lead sourcing and contracting activities for operational materials, equipment and third-party services.
• Ensure production-critical materials and services are sourced, expedited and delivered in a timely manner to support safe and reliable operations.
• Develop and implement sourcing and contracting strategies that deliver best-for-business commercial outcomes while maintaining operational continuity.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and contractors to drive responsiveness, reliability and performance.
• Influence suppliers and stakeholders to resolve issues, remove barriers and achieve business objectives.
• Identify, assess and mitigate supply chain risks that may impact production, maintenance, shutdown or integrity activities.
• Lead tendering, commercial evaluations, negotiations and contract award activities in accordance with company governance requirements.
• Establish, renew and manage operational contracts, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and business requirements.
• Provide commercial and procurement advice to stakeholders on sourcing strategies, supplier engagement and contract management.
• Manage urgent and emergent procurement requirements, demonstrating ownership, urgency and a relentless focus on delivering outcomes.
• Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve value, service and operational outcomes.
• Promote MEPAU's Local Content objectives by identifying and developing opportunities for local, regional and Indigenous suppliers whilst maintaining safe, reliable and cost-effective operations.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, delegated authorities and applicable HSE requirements.
• Maintain procurement and contract records, reporting and system data to support governance and audit requirements.
• Provide mentoring and guidance to C&P team members and contribute to capability development across the Supply Chain function.
• Support shutdowns, major maintenance campaigns and operational readiness activities as required.
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve procurement processes, supplier performance and supply chain effectiveness.
• Contribute to broader Supply Chain transformation initiatives and the achievement of business objectives.
