Approvals Manager

Role Description

The Approvals Manager will lead and coordinate all aspects of approvals required across the business including operational, asset level, environmental and related approvals. The Approvals Manager will be effective at influencing and building internal and external stakeholder relationships including with regulators, functional leads and teams.

This role will ensure business operational obligations are met while identifying and implementing opportunities to improve control processes/outcomes.

Position Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development, management and implementation of the Company approvals strategy.
  • Take the lead on the development of various approvals documents, including but not limited to Part IV & Part V EP Act Approvals, Environmental Approvals under PGER Act, Field Management Plans, Asset Reference Plans, Carbon Management Plans and related documentation.
  • Project management of external consultants to support the delivery of approvals.
  • Build and maintain relationships with regulators to support the delivery of timely approvals.
  • Support external stakeholder engagement to ensure approvals consultation requirements are met.
  • Support joint venture engagement, reporting and all aspects of our partner agreements.
  • Coordinate and contribute to external funding applications and grant submissions.

Requirements / Qualifications / Experience

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree, Tertiary Qualification, or equivalent in environmental management, geology, engineering, legal or related discipline. 
  • Proven track record in government relationships and stakeholder management capability.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant E&P experience.
  • Sound organisational skills, including multitasking, time-management and influencing without authority.
  • Proven track record of working effectively in a team setting to deliver best-for-business outcomes.
  • High level of proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite of programs.
  • Excellent business writing and oral communication skills, high attention to detail and a can-do attitude.
